this gorgeous lady is a tribal woman from pushkar rajasthan... i had heard and seen a lot of her on flickr and made sure i went and met her in pushkar camel fair where she and her husband had set up a small stall and were selling tribal jewellery.

on my own
Solitude
Sitting in my room alone
Wrapped warmly in a quilt
Cold wind blowing outside my window
Feeling not a pang of guilt
For needing solitude
There is a certain feel of comfort
With a loved one so close by
But that feeling is not near enough
When unable to see eye to eye
And needing solitude
...

this young boy generally plays his dhol at the Jaswant Thada during the day and earns some money from tourists... he was asleep when i first saw him... but later he woke up and took some more shots of him... like this one
he was, humming to himself, carrying his blanket, dhol and other paraphernalia :o)

sweepin by...
these three ladies were sweeping at the Mandore garden, Jodhpur... when they caught me clicking, just like many other locals they asked for money too... they were so curious as to why would anyone want to click pictures of them sweeping, what would i do with them...
most locals believe that people click their pictures and make lots of money from them, and so they say they deserve a sahre... in most cases, this is true, but even if it is not, it is so much fun making them happy with a little money and in return getting to spend sometime with them, laughing and listening to their stories :o)
sadhus
sadhus always make for such interesting subjects ... they have a curious air about them and i love shooting them ! i spotted this group in pushkar near the Brahma temple !
